With everything that's going on with the fire service, GRA, AGSI, INMO, POA....

I can't help be notice that our side hasn't done or said ANYTHING!!!

Not a word from NASRA or SIPTU even.

I can tell you I feel the same stresses as the other services but nothing being said from the NAS side.

I feel ashamed when I meet a Guard, feels like we aren't backing them!!

Bring the issue up with your NASRA/SIPTU rep

Most of the news you here is from the 24/7 frontline alliance which the GRA, AGSI,, POA are members of.
Siptu are no longer involved inthe 24.7 alliance as the above are not bound by the collective agreements that SIPTU are bound by. The Firefighters that SIPTU represent are part of the overall collective bargaining under the PSA and are therefore not allowed to be treated as a seperate organiosation.
Which means that the clerical officer who doesnt get premium payments, allowances etc will have a vote on whether SIPTU members that do receive them should have them cut.
The non premium payment members of SIPTU far out ballot the premium payment members.
IMPACT have extremely few premium payment members and they also ballot.

Also SIPTU were originally part of 24/7 but because they have already done a deal with Government ( the talks are a smokescreen ) They are not in a position to seperate their premium pay members.

A member of DFB asked SIPTU if Firefighters could be seperated and vote on cuts that effect them and SIPTU replied that no it was a union ballot by all public service members

More reason for NASRA to stand up! I spoke to both reps, they don't seem to really know why or what to do.....

well this is down to the rep's poor performance or lack of contact with regional rep's, was at the 24/7 alliance march in dublin on the 09th was an absolute disgrace 18 NAS staff present (12 of which were from the midlands) none from siptu they seemed to have already raised the white flag. whats stopping you contacting nasra or there website yourself?

    Ambo,

NASRA has been on the radio about this. The Chairman Mick Dixon also released a press statement. I have to agree with other posters here. A) it appears Siptu already have a deal done & the talks are a smokescreen & B) did you ask your local NASRA rep (do you have one). Feel free to pm me if you need further assistance
