I haven't used the Wii in a while and was trying to connect it to the TV again. The TV is not picking up the picture but it is picking up the sound. Would this be a cable fault as it had been unplugged for a while so could have been damaged. I think it is the AV cable. The TV does take a component cable as well but I cannot find it anywhere.

I had a Wii go pop on me when the video processor went bang, overheated due to an issue with Wiiconnect being switched on too long, heating up the innards of the system, cooking the aforementioned video processor and losing the picture, still sound though.
Try a different AV cable or AV port on the TV, just to confirm its the console and not the something else.
