McAfee Internet Security

I am experiencing a Windows XP shut-down error which I have now established relates to the McAfee Internet Security suite. I have taken the matter up with McAfee Support, without success. I have had 3 support chats without success and issue remains unresolved, software uninstalled and re-installed etc. etc. A complete waste of time coupled with alot of arrogance and ignorance from the customer representatives. The problem was then elevated to Tier 2 Support, arrangements were made for a call-back at an agreed time, the representative telephoned 2 days later at a time when I was not at my PC, rearranged a later time, again two days ago and have not heard anything since. I have emailed their customer service department to raise a complaint but again, have not had a response. I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this unprofessional behaviour from McAfee. I have been a McAfee customer for about 7 years now and find this totally unbelievable. Incidentally, my subscription has another 10 months to run. Any suggestions for an alternative anti-virus, Internet protection software. Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated.

I never had much problem with McAfee when I was using their product, but I would have to say that I would never pay for an antivirus software these days - free ones such as Avast or AVG are just as good as any paid software. I would recommend either Avast or AVG to any home user, combine them with Windows Firewall (Or Comodo Firewall, which is free and excellent) and your PC is fully secure.
