Cycleways as well. Got a pair of experts on sale in there before Christmas - the ones with a boa dial on top and a velcro strap at bottom. can't recommend them enough. fantastic fit like a glove.

Specialized seem to restrict retailers from selling their products "out of territory", which means that availability on websites outside of Ireland is patchy.

Buying shoes on the internet is tricky enough anyway due to fit, unless you're replacing a pair like for like.

I'm a 45 also. Have had two pairs of specialized shoes. Slim fit suits my foot. Also have sidi but prefer the specialized.

Shimano are a tight fitting TBH, so I'd guess you may be more like a 44 in Specialized. I have a good set of carbon soled Spesh and can really recommend them.
DONT buy online. Its just too big a risk with fitting - its one of the few things I would recommend you always go to the local shop to get....

Agree with the try before buy. Shorts and shoes the 2 most important bits of kit. My S Works shoe is snug but at the same time plenty room in the toe. Don't know how I wore the Carnacs before that, they were so tight in comparison. Both size 41. Got my Specs in Hollingsworths.

For info, I have a pair of Shimano MTB boots in size 40 which are a bit loose on my feet, and a pair of Specialized MTB shoes in size 40 which feel similarly loose (though it is a little tricky to compare boots with shoes). I have Specialized road shoes in size 39 which are a pretty good fit. This suggests that, for my feet, a size 39 in both brands might fit similarly, but there are a lot of ifs and buts in there so the suggestion to try before you buy is still the soundest advice.

I have bought shoes online in the past, with success mostly, but on one occasion the shoes (my first time buying Giro shoes) were a terrible fit and it was a real hassle to have to package them up and send them back. It has made me very wary of buying anything other than direct replacements for shoes online since, and even then I've read claims that Specialized changed their shoe fit/sizing a little a couple of years back so replacements might not fit the way you'd expect either.

Generally I've found online size guides that refer to your actual foot length (in centimetres) to be a good starting point, but I couldn't find an official one from Specialized when I checked just now. The most "useful" one I found is this one but according to that chart I should really be wearing a size 40 in Specialized so I'm not convinced of the chart's accuracy.

All of which basically supports the idea to try in a local bike shop.
