£40 from Amazon incl delivery. It comes with a half full toner which should be good for 700 pages or so. CamelCamelCamel tells me this is the cheapest it's ever been.

I've had this for a year or so now. It's a fast, reliable, no-fuss printer and cheap to run.

    For refills, pick up: https://www.inkmaestro.ie/Samsung-Digital-Revolution-MLT-D101S-black-toner-MLT-D101S/ELSC-i18083-t24086.html

I've used three of these toners and found them excellent in terms of quality and quantity.

As an aside, I don't really know why anyone would buy a colour inkjet printer these days. Photos etc are cheaper and of better quality when ordered online from photobox and, in my experience at least, almost anything else you need to print at home is fine in B&W.

    Just bought one of these.

Both Harvey Norman's and Argos here are selling them for around 104e!

Thankfully, while in H Norman googled the model number to see what the reviews were like and Argos.co.uk came up with that price.

Got my mate up north to pick one up for me...

PS - I had a HP deskjet which dried up because I never used it and I'm about to feck it out..

I used to think that but have gone back to inkjet printing as it's now cheaper than laser... Had a laser MFP at home for years but toner was costing a fortune (I used inkmaestro for toners).. I switched to an Epson inkjet MFP. Full set of ink cost €99 and does 2700 pages. The HP laser cost €270 for a full set of toners and only did 2100 pages... Epson has waaaay lower running costs.

Some of the new HP inkjets do edge to edge printing at over 60ppm (thats tested by reviewers) and cartridges doing over 3000 pages.... Laser printers with those specs would cost a couple of thousand easy compared to a couple of hundred for the inkjets...

If you refill your own inkjet cartridges you can run an inkjet printer for absolute buttons.
I buy four 250ml bottles of high quality Image Specialistsink for less than 70 euro and that lasts me over a year refilling 2 Canon printers .
Thats over 20-25 sets of cartridges .

Saying that a laser printer has its uses so I am going to buy this one.

Toner only suitable for units purchased pre-Dec 2012, according to the link.

Inkjet.ie don't seem to carry this models toner, though available from the Chinese on ebay.

I bought one of these about 18 months ago for around €60 - a steal at the latest price - 100% reliable, and none of the problems of inkjets with cartridges drying up or getting blocked

Got original Samsung toner cartridge from inkmaestro.ie - was the best value at the time about €37 from memory. Still going strong

BTW, the sterling rate is quite low at the moment too. According to google (https://www.google.ie/search?q=40+sterling+to+euro), it's coming in at €46.28 at the minute (I know your own banks rate is probably a bit higher but... just to illustrate the point)

I contacted Ink Maestro who graciously responded:

"In December Samsung changed the firmware in their printers, specifically so that they would refuse the compatibles. The compatible manufacturer is working on a solution, but right now if you have a post-Dec 2012 machine then we can only supply the ORIGINAL Samsung. If your machine is pre-Dec 2012 then you can also use the compatible and save €20!"

Anyone know if you can downgrade the firmware with one of the custom ones:
