Hives or something similar

Hi. Did anyone see the health program on a UK channel last year regarding a guy who was getting hives or something similar on his body. Reach itchy little critters that were driving him mad.

I'm interested as I want to know what the diagnosis & treatment was.

I am getting something similar. No change in diet, detergents, or any of the usual stuff, and my other half is not affected, so it would not appear to be anything I'm coming into contact with.

I have had them for quite some time now (14+ months), but recently getting worse so am keen to see if others have any similar experiences, or can remember the above program. I have attended the doc, who is doing full bloods, and will arrange allergy tests too.

tbh Op you are best waiting for the results from your doctor. No one on here is qualified to give medical advice.

Agree fully, that's why I wasn't looking for medical advice, and why I went to the doctor in the first place.

So....anyone see the programme I am enquiring about?

Tis called urticaria (hives) and the reasons for it are often difficult to diagnose.

I have this...and have done allergy tests blood tests the whole lot. I have hay fever and it also came back with an allergy to dust mites but eliminating them is nearly impossible....but the doc doesn't think they are whats causing it anyway. The only thing that works for me is antihistamines. One every three days normally sorts me out.
Before i found out that the antihistamines would work it was hell...it normally started on my legs and after maybe a half an hour i was itching nearly everywhere.
I felt dirty! But I shower every day sometimes twice a day.
