I know its come up before but threads seem to be specific to issues/providers.

In a nutshell, 3G in my area is very inconsistent, expecially in the evenings, data allowances are too low, no fixed wireless or phone line options, so I'm looking at satelite.

Spurred on by the Tooway KBO thread, I've started researching. For the "unlimited" option on that thread, the price seemed quite high compared to those on toowaydirect.com, or onwave. Am I'm missing something here.

Has anyone got recommendations based on experience ie customer service, promised speeds etc. I work from home quite a bit so I'm going to hit my employer for a contribution, and we've a house full of tablets/smart phones etc. Can't afford a contract that doesn't deliver.

    Thanks for reading.

Thanks. I was going to go ahead and order with them, but work use a VPN for remote access and VMware for logging into some servers. Although I don't use data intensive packages at work, I want to make sure that these could be handled as I know Satellite will not always work for this.

I've made an enquiry to Digiweb but as of yet they haven't responded. No response, no purchase. I'll send them a chaser next week.

Hi Carb, did you go ahead with Digiweb ?

If so, has VPN worked ok for you? What sort of speeds are you getting?

I am on the lookout for broadband in a rural area. I would need to use VPN, but I am hearing conflicting reports about VPN and VoIP with satelitte broadband.

I'm interested in that too. Especially about ping times and, last but not the least, how much power will consume a system like that?

Sorry for the radio silence everyone.

I still haven't pull the trigger on this yet. As work will be paying, they've kept me waiting.

IT initially thought there would be an issue if the IP address began with 10, but on further consideration by the system's engineer, they said it would be ok. As the boss has been travelling, the process stalled, and due to my current workload, I was in the office generally on days when I should have been working from home.

If/when I go ahead with it, I'll be sure to update the thread.
