Ok, i know im asking this early but want to make sure it passes.

NCT is due in April. The car seems to be running fine and doesnt give e any trouble at all.

Car is a 3 door Fiat Punto MK2,

    Only problems are;

    Burning oil
light bulb failure warning on dash.
    drivers seat doesnt slide forward.

    1) So as for emissions, is there anything i can add into the petrol in the day of the test to make it all seem ok?

    2) The light warning on dash, had it on my last punto and never found the fault, all bulbs working, all connections clean and tight and all earthing points fine too?

    3) the drivers seat, the spring on the seat for when you pull the handle for it to slide forward is broken.

So will it fail the test in your opinion or will them faults go down as minor faults and still pass?

The FAQ section of the NCTS website has a link to a document (part of Q11) detailing all the testing criteria-that should help you out.

Thanks, I have read over the FAQ's and also the testing booklet that explains everything and according to the malfunction warning lights 'Ensure the malfunction indicators for Airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Electronic Braking System (EBS) / Anti-Lock
Braking System (ABS) and Parking Brake malfunction indicator are in working order.' so the light bulb warning shouldnt matter.

also nothing about my driver seat HAVING to slide forward

so thats 2 of 3 crossed out.

    now just worried about emissions

How much oil is it burning and what were the emissions reading the last time it was checked. If it is burning oil then there is little you can do to stop it apart from repair the engine. Is it blowing blue smoke from the exhaust?

As for the bulb warning light, lots of them do that - so long as the NCT man can see that the bulbs are working it won't fail based on the light on the dash.

    1) no way of making it 'seem' ok unfortunately, make sure it has been recently serviced by a competent mechanic and make sure there are no exhaust leaks, thats the most you can do yourself. puntos in general are good to pass on emissions (hc's and co) but leaking exhausts are a common problem causing lambda failure.

    2) bulb warning light on is a feature of punto's at this stage, dont worry about it unless theres a bulb actually gone

    3) drivers seat is a problem, especially if the tester is taller or smaller than you, he will definitly need to try and move the seat ;), as he is meant to do anyway.

Nothing to worry about here, mine passed last week with the bulb warning light on (as it was for an auxiliary light which was not required)

The seat itself moves up and down on the rail when you pull the bar, but to let a passenger into the back, when you pull up the tab on the side it doesnt
