Had a quick look and cant find any other threads relating so here goes.

Looking for headlamps for my 2003 Skoda Superb

Aftermarket, or OEM, doesn't bother me! new or 2nd hand, so long as its not crazy money

Skoda want CRAZY money for them. Curious if anyone knows if any of the other VAG car headlamps will fit my superb (bora, passat, a4) etc.

No other headlamps will fit, you will need ones that are specifically made for the superb. If you don't mind me asking, what's wrong with the ones that are on it already? are they faded?

    Thanks for the reply!

Damn crafty Germans haha! They're very dirty on the inside and one has condensation, it looks like the previous owner tried to smoke them and it wasn't successful. Also the back covers are missing which has more than likely helped with the dirt and the connections are corroded. I have a HID kit in the car and because of the condition of the lamps they're throwing out feck all light sadly.

Any advice or help would be much appreciated

I tried tooth paste and fine wet and dry, the fading is on the inside.

toothpaste worked a treat on my last car, they came up brand new looking, absolutely spotless.

I was actually going to suggest sanding or using cutting compound on them but you've try'd this already so there goes that idea.

Your best bet would be a breakers yard, but if these are anything like the passat finding a good pair of none faded headlamps could prove difficult.

At this point I'd be putting one of the units in the oven (80 degrees ish) and separating the ter lens from the unit. Do whatever polishing or cleaning on te inside of the lens, pull off all the sealant then reseal with black silicone.

When you can't get the outside of the lamp clear, it's usually is well oxidisided into the plastic

auto in galway deal in all opel/vw/skoda/audi parts - also mclaughlin motor factots in donegal specialise in Hella lights thus good place to start if breaker yards have none - also traynor breakers in armagh/omagh have excellent delivery service

https://www.headlampsdirect.co.uk/ I found em here for next to nothing compared to what Skoda wanted. Great site, if any of you are looking for any I'll review mine when they arrive and give a thumbs up or down. They have nearly all makes and models

Are they genuine OEM lamps though? Some spurious lamps can be got much cheaper than genuine lamps, but the quality usually is nowhere near as good.

Well guys, the lamps aren't OEM, but they;re the same company that supply to samora etc they're very good quality and are a 100% percent fit.

I've included a before and after pictures. Total cost of two lamps was 280e as far as I recall including shipping.

I swear to god the light that comes out of these now is fantastic! I didn't feel safe driving at night but now its like daytime 24/7! I changed my old HID's too while I was at it for a set of bosch and they're fantastic.

They don't usually stock them. Was one of the first places I checked, gave em a call too to see if they could get them and they said if they ordered them they would be 300e per lamp.

Yikes that's pretty expensive. I've gotten stuff in the past from that site, think its new enough out. Seems pretty cheap, well in comparison to what I used to pay for parts for my skoda.
