Best English Language Programme?

Our school have been using the Edco Sunny Street programme for the last 12 years in the infants to 1st classes. Since 2008 we have adopted the Jolly Phonics programme (Letterland being the previous scheme). At this point, we have found the the Sunny Street books are far too simple for the children and the workbooks seem to be more like colouring books for them.

Would anyone have advice on choosing a different scheme to coincide with Jolly Phonics? What programme do you use in your school, and how do you find it?

Or should we just use Jolly P alone and move on to the Jolly P Grammar Handbook for the Senior/1st/2nd classes?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!
