This warning is on British Farming forum at the moment, think we have dual members here

It would appear this server has been illegally accessed (hacked) this morning. There is a danger email addresses and passwords have been stolen as well as private messages. Anybody who is using the same password on this site as other sites (including email accounts) is encouraged to change all their passwords immediately. If you're a member on their it would be highly recommended to go and change your password everywhere else you use the same email address.

If the database has been compromised badly the hackers now have a huge list of emails & passwords. They can automatically test them against thousands of login forms and see which ones work.

Say you used the same email and password on BFF as you used for an online shop which saved credit card details. The hacker could then login to the online shop with your BFF email & password and spend money on your card.

Identity theft is a huge problem.

If you want to join BFF and be a full member you are able to use your gmail email address.

www.thefarmingforum.co.uk seems to me thats in buzz now.

So am I right in my thinking that
    BFF was hacked.
BFF old threads cannot be accessed.
    BFF offline for a period.
    Clive starts www.thefarmingforum.co.uk

So at the moment everything is up in the air.

Okey so its over a week since the '**** hit the fan' so to speak.

So from an outsiders point of view who do you think will win the Power Struggle of the farming forums?

    TheFarmingforum vs BFF

I can't see both forums uniting in the near future IMO.

Tff can't make it through the firewall at work, but Clive as mentioned releasing an app which would swing it I think

Good riddance that BFF has fcuked up.

I believe that it is a blessing in disguise that BFF was hacked and that there now is a power struggle between both sites.

The downside is that the archive is lost or they won't recover it.

Clive could of picked a better name for the forum.

    Who's Clive?

I loved the old BFF, loads of new stuff every day, not all applicable to our little operations, but interesting..registering was a mad affair, dunno why they made it so difficult.
Is there a chance it'll be resurrected?..it really is a shame to lose all that archived knowledge/opinion...Farming forum to my eyes is a long way behind in terms of popularity / number of posts / readers / posters.
    Will the famous 'Duck' abscond?
Is the farming forum partly Irish / run?

Pity if the archive is lost. Lots of good advive, machinery wise, etc. I liked the "I built it myself" section of the forum. Iver in cavan
