Alternative Careers in Law

I'm currently half way through a law degree and am feeling a bit lost as to want I want to do when I'm finished. I definitely don't want to go down the solicitor/barrister route for various reasons. I was looking through this forum for advice and I thought a dedicated thread would be useful for others who are in a similar situation to me. My main interests would be in criminal law and family law and outside of this, I enjoy sport and history. I'm basically looking for a way of combining any of these interests with a law degree without going down the traditional path. Any advice or ideas from those of you who are in alternative jobs/careers?

First piece of advice is the search function :pac:

Then there are numerous paths available. Journalism / writer on history or sports or the history of sport springs to mind. Private investigator or do something that requires a general degree or do a masters.

If considering a masters Criminology might float your boat and then pursue an academic career or work in the periphery of the legal profession / and or take a more sociological course.
