Which is a better job if you had a choice, internally insulating your external walls or pumping the cavity? Not to sure what root to take.
Internally I would be using 50mm insulation, pro-clima barrier and 12.5mm slab, how good is having the cavity pumped?

Between the two choices the better thermal u value will be got from the internal insulation (dry lining). However the best option if you can do it is external insulation (insulation outside the external wall) this is what I thought you were asking in your thread tittle.
From reading your post your asking about internal vs pumped cavity. Both has its merits and demerits.

I got a price of €900 for cavity insulation 200m2 so I think I might go with both and make sure I get it right first time but I spoke with a company that do the pump system and he said I will not need to use a barrier (air tight system) in my drylining if I pump the cavity??
