There's a girl (BHS instructor) at my yard that has given me loads of help with my horse the past few months and I would say if it wasn't for her I probably wouldn't be where i am at all. She won't take money for teaching me so I would like to get her something for her own horse maybe? She did mention she is going to be hopefully doing lots of showing this year so i was thinking of getting her a nice travelling set for her horse? Like a good quality travel rug and boots? I know she doesn't have boots. What do you all think? Or should I get something else? I think she has all the rest of her tack/riding equipment. She doesn't drink so a bottle of wine is not an option and I would like to get her something horsey anyway. Any recommedations/suggestions appreciated!!!

What about a really nice show numnah and/or sheep skin! You can never have to many numnahs especially a really nice showjumping one!
You could even get a fancy/crystal browband that she could use for good where!:)
You right about getting something practical, there's nothing like a gift you can use!

How much do you want to spend?

A good Leather Headcollar for travelling with her horses name engraved on the side, if she doesn't have one already?

Equitheme do lovely travel rugs, reasonably priced too! Not sure about travel boots, I know I dont have them because I dont use them, just travel them in their normal boots! Nice browbands always nice to get too, the kind of thing you wont necessarily buy for yourself!

Oh not the bling browband, I HATE them. Berneys do the leather headcollars and will put the name tags on too.

If you have €150 to spend you will defo get a good quality Head Collar & you could do her up a basket of Tack Cleaner, Hoof Oil, Stain remover , sponges etc --- everyone loves a practical pressie!
The problem with "Bling Browbands" is they are a very aquired taste - some love them & some hate them .

I for one love the browband, how can anyone not like sparkles?? Personally devastated that I cant dress the gelding in fluff and pink and sparkly things, its a hard life!!

    Embroidered numnah? Tri do them?

You can dress your gelding up in crystals and sparkles! Just like Kings and Princes!

If you're buying a present for someone, you'd be safer to err on the side of caution - sparkly browbands, pink accessories, embroidered numnahs, etc. would drive me insane. I personally think they look tacky and awful, and not suitable for someone who's thinking of showing.

As someone suggested, you could always look at more 'practical' presents, such as rugs, buckets, tack cleaning equipment, etc. or you could always look at getting her a voucher for a store such as Berneys, TRI, or somewhere closer to where you're located. That way she could get what she wanted/needed.

I don't like the 'bling' browbands, and anyone I know who's owned one, the bling has fallen off from day one and it's gone by day 30 nearly! I think travel boots + rug set would be nice. I saw a picture on facebook earlier on saying Horze now do a Horseware stripped rip off and it looked very nice!

I also think the basket of everyday goodies would be nice.

a nice pair of prestige stirrup leathers are always a nice gift!!! they are the kind of thing you would never buy for yourself but are lovely to get as a gift! or how about a stephens sheep skin pad? they are lush and very hard wearing too! :)
