    Hi,

I am going to be moving jobs and starting work in Dublin in April. I just started looking for a new house but I want to get somewhere that I can cycle in and out every day. I don't know Dublin that well yet. But could anyone who does cycle in recommend a good route to Stephens green from somewhere along the green luas line? Somewhere between a 10 & 20 km cycle each way would be my preference.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Around the green luas line, the areas around the Sandyford/Stillorgan/Kilmacud stops wouldn't be too bad. Dundrum might be worth considering too, and is quite a bit closer to town.
If you don't mind longer cycles and living way outside the city, have a look at luas stops south of Sandyford.
The road from there into town is generally quite nice on a bike(At least I thought so a year ago). The city centre bit wouldn't be ideal as far as getting to the Green goes, but only the Donnybrook/Blackrock roads would give you an ideal entrance to the Green.

i used to cycle from between sandyford & stepaside to the green and it was about 25 to 30 mins in, maybe 5 or 10 mins more on the way home as it was uphill on the way home!

from there you could either go straight to the N11 and follow that into town or else hit down through dundrum and into town through either ranelagh or rathmines. plenty of options actually, which is handy to be able to have some variety on your commute.

Those general areas are well served with cycle lanes.
My route from Sandyford, follows Drummartin Link road, Clonskea(R825), Sandford road, Marlborough road, N11 leeson St, St Stephend green; cycle lane practically all tthe way.

Thanks for all the replies. I have an idea of the general area I would like to live in now... Just gotta find a bike friendly house. Any more route suggestions would be welcome...
