    Hi Folks,
I was wondering if anybody had any experience with Lionbridge. They offer a work from home opportunity. Apparently it is a web searching job, and offers €13.50 per hour, minimum of 10 hours, max of 20 hours per week. If anybody has had any experience with them, could you please let me know. I have googled their name and it has appeared on a number of forums and seems to be legit, but I'd like to hear from someone who has experience with them.
    Thanks a million!

I've applied for this too OP and their selection process is crazy. Only for their a reputable company I'd be much more inclined to believe there's a scam in there somewhere. well it was enough to put me off continuing the application process anyway.

I can confirm that they are legit; they don't pay per hour iirc but per task (i.e. you get X tasks with an expected completion time per task of Y min per task, if you take Yx2 to complete them you still only get paid for X*Y). The tasks come in various forms from ranking the relevancy of a web page with a specific search term, comparing two sets of images vs. a search term, verifying google map driving instructions etc.

The tasks are also party pooled so if you don't do them directly someone else may end up doing them instead!

Thanks a million for the replies. There is an awful lot in the application process alright. Every e-mail i receive has about 10 attachments! Nody do you think it is possible to actually make an extra bit of money from it? Or does it just sound better than it is!

You can make some money of it but don't expect to be rich or give up your day job for it basically. Some times you'll get very little, next you get a lot so there's variety in how much you get every month. It's great for someone doing it with something else (studying, working part time, etc.) but I'd not rely on it as a main income.

I can give an email of a lady, who advised me on internet jobs and work from home positions. She is an owner of an internet shop and has a lot of experience in finding staff. Pm me if interested.

Hi, I applied for this position also, I'm not sure about the whole 'self-employed' thing, I mean, its seems like an awful lot of hassle having to register with Revenue just to ;'maybe' earn a couple of hundred euro per week. Did anyone have experience of this with Lionbridge?

I saw this and got my friend to ring up /email & inquire!! It was on jobs.ie under miscellaneous section. Thought it might be good for weekend extra money as it said it was just looking for ordinary typical Internet users & not for proper testers or programmers.

The pay is e 12 an hour -which is pretty dire -and yyou will get irregular work which you will be only paid for when you have successfully done it to their methodology and processes. Lots of form filling in and you have to read their process manuals & do about 4 or 5 Hours work for free as a test before they decide to give you work to do. Work only paid on completion .

TBH dosn't sound fantastic.particularly when you consider it's less than minimum wage for something you will have to set up a company to do & have no regular set income guaranteed for. Thou if you don't Mind hanging on ever day what harm!? It's better than zero - thou you will have a projected tax bill to pay next year based on this years salary :o
