income continuance/claiming back for private health insurance

    hello folks,

    I have been told that i can claim back my private health insurance payements through comething called income continuance. is this true? I know very little about taxation and revenue so any help would be appreciated. if i can could someone point me towards the correct form to fill out?

    It depends really. Are you actually talking about a medical insurance premium like VHI or an income continuance from a private insurance company? If its medical then the tax relief was already granted at source. If its income continuance then the link below will assist.

    Hi there i was just wondering if you knew if income continuance benefit is considered a taxable income. Have been out of work for a while and my plan has kicked in but not sure if this is regarded as a taxable income. It is in fact a return on a policy just as if you claimed from your house or car insurance, any info would be greatly appreciated
