Clunking Sound

Wondering if anyone would have any idea what this would be. The car is driving fine, well seems fine. It's just been serviced. Only when I pulled into my drive last night, there was a very sudden clunking sound from the rear undercarriage of the car - like a bottle dragging along the ground or something. When I looked under the car I saw nothing. It's happened once before and went away just as quickly. There is nothing in the boot that would rattle or bang. It's an 08 Octavia.

Are your plastic undertrays all secure and not flexing/dragging?

Check the exhaust. Some of the rubber hangers may be damaged or undone.

Thanks for the replies. Had a look underneath everything seems fine, nothing hanging where it shouldn't. I'm not a mechanic though. Driving around today, no clunking sounds at all. Car behaving normally. I don't want to go annoying my mechanic over a 'phantom' clunking sound that comes and goes.

Just double check all your wheel nuts are secure, especially at the rear.

Had a mystery noise from a car previously that turned out to be a loose nut.

Maybe a bushing. Take it to a mechanic for a quick look, shouldn't cost much at all to check if anything at all.
