Just wondered if any of the space shuttle or space station astronauts have had sex in space. There have been rumours. Also what would be the pros and cons?

If two people have sex in space and no one is around do they make a sound?

    Pros: Zero gravity.

Cons: Zero Gravity, and the fact that you are up in the ISS for 6 months. It's not like you can avoid someone up there.

Silly question as we all occupy space therefore all sex occurs in "space"

Newtons third law of motion would come into play I'd imagine and one of them would need tying down.

Wrap a couple of bungie cables around yourselves and you'll be flying. (I've thought about this way too much :o)

Can't imagine it'd be much fun for anyone though with all the bodily fluids just floating about.

The adult entertainment production company Private Media Group has filmed a movie called The Uranus Experiment: Part Two where the zero gravity intercourse scene was accomplished by flying an airplane to an altitude of 11,000 feet (3350 meters) and then doing a steep dive.

I heard that sex in space is frowned upon as fluids will float and give a new meaning to sticky keys

Maybe that's what happened to the shuttle Columbia. Someone on board was attempting a re-entry. Then the trouble started.

There was an astronout couple that were married and they were in space together.

    This is funny:
"We are a group of professionals," the AFP quoted Poindexter as saying to a reporter who asked about the possibilities of sex in space during a Tokyo press event.
    From here:
    http://www.space.com/8683-time-sex-space-astronaut.html

    Astronout Poindexter ain't getting laid.

Moonraker: The staff of MI6 are watching a large TV screen that shows James Bond and Dr. Goodhead making love in space while Q reviews the shuttles telemetry on a seperate monitor]

Minister: My god, what's Bond doing!?

    Q: I think he's attempting re-entry, sir.

There was a pair of newlyweds on endeavour in 1992, I find it hard to believe they didn't at least try, you'd almost have to!

They might have drifted apart afterwards!
