electric shower as you are only heating the exact amount of water you use as immersion heats an unknown volume of water in the cylinder that is not always used. can you not heat the water in cylinder with oil or gas?

i was thinking that, especially since the emersion gets left on a lot by mistake. the oil in the winter takes the chill out of the tank, but might it be cheaper to you the oil to he.at in fully? i think we have valve to switch to that option

There's a problem there if the oil only takes the chill out of your cyclinder. If your oil heating is heating rads and cyclinder for say 2 hours it should easily have your cyclinder top to bottom the same temp as the rads
