Have to repeat a couple of module exams next year. Haven't been able to get a hold of my tutor to get info. So how do i apply for this, just online? And what fees are involved if you have to repeat a lab? And I can still continue with my semester 2 modules right? I'm kind of panicking and just need to put my mind at ease :S

You will be able to repeat the exams around September this year. I'm not sure how the registration process works but I'm sure you'll either be sent a letter or be automatically registered for them.

The fee was €60 last year, regardless of how many you failed, not sure what it is this year tho.

Also, you will be able to continue semester 2 as normal.

Omg, that's a relief! Thanks. btw, there's no fees to repeat the lab component of a module?

What course are you in OP? If you have failed your labs you might have to repeat the year. Failed exams can be repeated in September, but labs must be done again if you fail, and you will have to pay tuition fees afaik. Your course handbook should explain this.

I'm doing science. seriously? I'll have to pay full fees just to repeat labs?

couldn't find anything in my course handbook. :/ know who i can speak to, apart from my tutor to find out more?

Talk to the head of your course. I don't know about yours but mine is always willing to talk to students.

The email addresses for all lecturers/staff are on the DIT Website in the contacts section. Find his/her email there and drop them a line. They'll more than likely get back to you first thing Monday morning

And don't be worrying about it either, I'm sure it'll all work out grand!

We got a new tutor for semester 2 and he doesn't seem as concerned about us than your first one. Ok, thanks very much for the info, i'll try that. I'm not worried about repeating labs, just about how much it will cost!
