Iberia Airlines [codeshares to US/Canada]

Just wondering if anyone has flown with Iberia airlines before, planning a trip over to Toronto. Iberia looks to be cheap enough to fly with. What are they like regarding seat size, do they squish you in to the plane? :P flew over before with Air Canada, tiny seats, I found it tough and im only 5'4!

    Thanks

Iberia about average. Air Canada sometimes below average.

Iberia don't fly to Toronto. Check who you're actually flying with, and through which airports. It may be BA or AA, with whom Iberia codeshare.

Flew with them to south america..perfect on the way over as the flight was operated by Lan Peru, terrible on the way back as it was Iberia themselves, never been on such a rickety old plane...9 hours with one overhead tv screen for the entire cabin...awful !!

Iberia and BA are part of the IAG Group (CEO Willie Walsh) so it's highly likely that an 'Iberia' flight to North America is with BA.

Awful, awful, awful. I flew with them to and from south America a few years. It wasn't too bad on the way over but it was definitely no frills. On the way back I had a 9 hour flight with no lights or tv. The staff couldn't have cared less.

In general the staff were totally rude and very mean with snacks and drinks.

Probably the worst airline I ever flew with.

I'd definitely pay a little more to avoid them in future.

In relation to the OP's query, I think within IAG Iberia services the routes to South America as part of their legacy operations but BA does North America.

I'm not surprised to hear of your experience, it was an old heavily unionised state-owned airline so protecting wages and conditions came well before the customer as far as the staff were concerned.

However you'll be pleased to hear that our very own Willie Walsh is dragging them into the 21st century....

I just came on to ask the exact same question! I am booking two return flights from Dublin to Denver and the cheapest by quite a bit is Iberia Airlines, they are coming in at €520 each and the times of the flights are good. From what I can see, they code share with American Airlines, so the flight is operated by AA. It’s working out about €50 per person cheaper to book with Iberia rather than with AA. Not sure now after reading some peoples reports on here!

Well unless you're flying via Madrid, it won't be Iberia. As you say, Iberia codeshare with American Airlines so if you're flying Dublin -> USA -> Denver, it will be AA.

That’s what I was thinking, it’s very tempting. From what I can see the entire trip is on an AA plane. Which leads me to ask, I see Iberia are on strike at the moment, if they happened to be on strike when we were travelling, and we had booked with them but flying on an AA aircraft, would we be affected by the strike?

Nothing. Nothing about the flight is operated by Iberia, so they could strike for 6 months and it would not impact you on the least.
