Take a run down through belleck woods. its 5k from the start of the trail behind the soccer pitch to the end of the woods and back again

You could even go for a run down to the Quay in the evening it is fairly well lit up on that road

Ask some locals where the athletics club base themselves, it's Belleek. It has:
    - Gravel running track
    - Short course/Long course
    - Woods with trails, these are interesting to run.
    - An unreal hill to train on
Club usually trains Tuesdays/Thursdays I think, so best to go when they are around when you can see where the setup is.
Entrance to Belleek is through an old stone Castle grounds type gates. Continue on 200 m and short/long course is on right. A large open 8 acre field on a slope.

Head for the Sligo Road so down by the river all the way.

I think you are talking about the wrong Ballina. I think its the one in Mayo that they are asking about.

    Hi Jimcricket,
If you are in Ballina this week come along to our club sessions Tuesday and Thursday at 7:00 at the track in Belleek. More than happyto show you the local routes. If you are looking for people to run with please PM and I will gladly organise it for you.You could not be in a better running town. Last year we had 58 people run the Dublin marathon with our men’s team taking the Bronze. Lots of runners gearing up for our local River Moy Half marathon on Saturday 25th May, so no shortage of running companions. Hope that helps.
