Boards.ie Password issues

    Hi

    I am having issues with my password on boards.ie.

    I have the same login email and password for adverts.ie. I can log into adverts.ie without issue.

    However when i try to log in boards.ie is says incorrect username or password.

    I then click on "forgot password" option, and I get an email offering me chance to reset my password.

    I reset it to the same password or a new one (makes no difference what I choose). It accepts the changes.

    But then when I go to log back in with the new password after ive logged out, it fails with same error ????

    Any ideas?

    You have to wait 15 minutes for the password reset to take effect on boards.ie, apparently it's a known issue.

    Reset your password again and wait until the time is up.

    Hi there,

    You cannot log in to Boards.ie with your email address, you must use your username only. When resetting your password it is entirely possible that you also cannot remember your username so we let users reset their password using either username or email address.

    With that in mind you're the second person with this issue in the last week or so, is there something about our log in form that is confusing you into thinking you can use your email address? We'd like to keep confusion to a minimum, for obvious reasons :)

    No, it isn't. And no, you don't have to wait 15 minutes :)

    What you're talking about is the feature that blocks the IP address when somebody fails logging in 5 times in a set period of time. There are absolutely no time restrictions on resetting passwords or activating accounts.

    Apologies if I spread any misinformation, that's what I got back in an email from the office when my account got locked out a few weeks back. Even though I got locked out after the first try, oddly enough.

    No worries at all. You may have tried it once but if you're on a shared IP then other attempts will count towards the total. We do our best to minimise disruption for people using shared gateways (e.g. Vodafone/Meteor/Three) but a few slip through the net from time to time.

    Yep that was the problem. Once I use the username instead of email address its A1.
    Just so used to typing in email address for login.

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu.
