    Hi Folk,

Have been off the bike for two months( tut tut ), got my ass handed to me in a mtb race last week so am incredibly unfit at the moment and couldnt even hold onto an A4 wheel. dont think il race the Ned Flanagan at the weekend but will do the leisure spin which is the same route as the race? anyone else doing it? or will it just be sad old lonesome me?

Looks like a great event and a good cause..

Only down the road from me so, all going to plan, I'll be there. I think there is good interest locally so there should be a decent turn out especially if the weather on the day is reasonable.

There was an article with a bit of background info and some details in the local paper last week.

Hopefully the leisure spin won't all be "resting" racers and there will be a few groups doing a sensible pace.

Thinking of giving the race a go ....not a member of any club can i just show up buy a licence on the morning and go
currently 30km average speed for 55k is wot im doing.... would i be left behind.

The sportive might be the wiser choice, I'm sure the faster groups in it will be over 30 kmh for 70 kms.

Think I saw somewhere that the Avg for A4 last year was around 39kph. But don't let that stop you :D

More important would be your familiarity with close, fast group riding. I only bring it up as you mention that you aren't in a club.
