Can you make someone do training if they are out on sick note from doctor. I have been told I have to attend compulsory training tomorrow but I am just not up to it. I won't be able to attend work if I do not do this training until it is back on again which could be another month.

If you've a medical cert, they can't make you work.

Quite right. However they could lay you off until the training come around again (or permanently) if you've been there under a year. By having a medical cert they are actually obliged to keep you off now.

Yup agree with this, if the training is mandated as being essential for your job or there is a deadline and you miss it, then you can expect to be on unpaid leave until it comes around or let go if you are there less than a year.
