Next pope Black or White, named Peter?

According to St Malachi the next pope ie 268 successor is supposed to be the last pope and named Peter. Petrus Romanus.

I would start placing my bets on Peter Kodwo Appiah Turkson :)

In the last post, I mentioned some odds on the Oscars drawn up by (other bookmakers are available) Paddy Power . They really don’t mess around at that turf accountant. Within an hour (or so) of Pope Benedict announcing his retirement, Mr Power already had odds up for the next Pontiff. Here they are. (Note that, somewhat disrespectfully, PP classifies this under “novelty betting“.) If ever there were a subject I knew nothing about it’s this. The bloke on Sky claimed that the new pope was bound to be an Italian. Secular voices in the tic-tac trade seem to disagree. Paddy Power currently have Canada, Nigeria, Ghana and Argentina out in front. The favourite, one Marc Ouellet, is available at a very tight 5/2. Heck, those are less attractive than the odds currently offered for Emmanuelle Riva at the Oscars. And she celebrates her 86th birthday on the day of the awards.
