Seeing an older woman advice

Hello, I am a 23 year old fella and i have started seeing a 26 year old lady. We work in the same field and met this way, we hit it off instantly and we are like infatuated teenagers, we can't stop!

Both of us recently came out of relationships and I know I was heartbroken. I have had one girlfriend after another and I would say this lady and I are both realtively attractive, outgoing, educated people so its not a matter of convience for 2 broken hearts, im just becoming a little cautious.

I would like to be in a relationship but I really can't imagine settling down. All the girls Ive been with are younger and I have not had to worry bout this. The consequences of something going wrong seem worse with an oldr lady, the relationship is more real.

I don't want to stop but I want to know what to be aware of when seeing an older lady. I want to just let go and for it not to be an issue. Is this possible? Is the age gap a lot? Its hard to judge when involved.

An older lady? I wouldn't be referring to her as that if you want your ''can't stop'' scenario to continue on its merry way.

yeah "an older lady" is totally the wrong description for a 26 year old!

She is 26, 3 years older than you. She is not an "older woman". Relax, enjoy yourself and the relationship.

If you're not a toyboy, she's not an older woman.

god the age gap is nothing here, when I read the title, I was thinking a ten year gap at least!! Dont worry about this and have some fun. see where it goes!

Thanks for the advice. I would agree if a friend asked me but when you are in the situation it's hard to judge.

Also by "older lady" I was very much referring to older than me as opposed to 26 being old. oh an Jantheman I constantly refer to her as this, its half the fun but thanks for the advice, ill contiune on my merry way.

Actually, I think this has less to do with a three year age gap and more to do with your concern that you're not ready to settle down and have a "real" relationship ... nothing wrong with that as long as you're honest with her.

There's nothing in particular to "be aware of when seeing [a 26-year-old] lady" ... she may be just as disinclined to settle down as you are ... although you do seem to be jumping to conclusions a little early if you're already worrying about how the "the consequences of something going wrong seem worse with an older lady". She's probably well able to take care of herself.

exactly OP. its actually the fact that you dont want to settle down yet not the fact that she is 26. btw 26 is young for a woman these days. the average age for women to get married in ireland is now 29 so you might be jumping to conclusions here. she might nearly pass out if you suggested that she wanted to settle down soon. perhaps you have a circle of friends who all married off at 26 and this is worrying you?

or perhaps through conversation with her she has kinda suggested and hinted that shes the type of girl who would love to be settled and married with a few kids before 30. if so you might want to go for a different girl. but just realise every woman is different, they dont all want to settle so young, there are many ambitious women out there would would only be thinking about that stuff in there early and mid 30's so if she is one then have fun and enjoy it and stop putting unnessessary pressure on yourself and the relationship.

OP, the way you are talking you'd think the woman was 36, not 26. She's only 3 years older than you, that's nothing. Stop over thinking everything and just enjoy dating her.

Ah lord 3 years is nothing!!! If she is going out with someone younger she obviously doesn't want to settle down just yet either.

Dont mean to steal the thread, but Im with a 33 year old and being 27 it shocked me to find out her age as I thought she was the same age as me :o, now Ive kinda been scared off

I am 3 years older then my fella. TBH in our case it feels like 10 years. I don't know if it is because of our life experiences or our age but she might end up being on the same page as you. Only one way to find out OP!
