Hi! I want to do Biomedical Science in NUIG next year which is around the 540/550 mark, if I don't get that then i was thinking about Undenominated Science in NUIG because, by the looks of things, the subjects offered such as Anatomy and Physiology in Biomedical Science are available in that as well. I was wondering if there is much employment prospects after Undenominated Science? Is it similar to having a degree in Biomedical Science provided you take the same subjects or is it much harder to get work? Any information at all would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

It's the same thing, I'm in fourth year undenominated science now and our employment prospects are the same as for the biomeds, obviously it will depend on what subjects you plan on doing in undenominated but as far as I can see biomed offers you no advantage in the job market. I would highly advise the undenominated route to be honest, gives more flexibility on what you want to do for final year.

I was talking to the head of biomedical science a few years ago and she said straight out, it's the same qualification and couldn't understand why leaving cert students wanted to do it so badly.
