Olympus E250 - shutter lag on shutter mode

    Hi all

I was using my camera yesterday in Mondello to try and get some panning shots.

When you are in shutter mode there is about a 2 second delay from when you press the button and when the picture is actually taken.

When you are in auto mode the shutter will start working straight away.

I actually managed to get better panning shots in auto rather than in shutter mode, although it was quite tricky and out of 100 photos I would say only 10 were half decent.

Does anybody have any experience with this, one of the lads beside me had a Nikon and he was showing me what his was like when it was on shutter mode and it fired off instantly

I don't have any timers set on the camera that I know of.

Reset camera setting if possible and test it in case it is a setting you have selected (like a mirror lock up setting or something)

All you ever needed to know about your Olympus DSLR is here,

    http://www.wrotniak.net/photo/43/index.html

The 520 is very similar to the 510 and there is a comprehensive guide to setting it up here

    http://www.wrotniak.net/photo/43/e510-rev.html

OP the likely hood is that you have the drive mode set to 2 sec delay or there is a 2 sec mirror lock up set, those user settings are overridden in Auto mode.
