    Hi,

I am looking to buy a laptop second hand. A guy is willing to sell me a packard bell laptop.

he is offering it for 100 euro.

it is a packard bell p5ws6. I cant find prices for it on internet. Can anyone advise if this is a good buy. It is 279 gb.

    Thanks

P5WS6 is not a model, probably a chassis number, so we can only guess. It seems to be reasonably new and likely to have a AMD C-50 Fusion processor which is horribly slow. Try to get more information.

Let's put it this way, the AMD E300 processor is a piece of cr@p and 2 GB RAM is a joke in this day and age (especially with a 64-bit operating system).

The latter can be remedied by a upgrading the system memory which is easy and cheap enough (or installing the 32-bit version of Windows 7) and if you don't expect any miracles from this computer then 100 yoyos is a fair enough price. If you need a laptop for more than just surfing the web (and you don't want too many open tabs on this one), playing music/videos and a little office work then this laptop is not for you.

I just had an Acer laptop with an E350 processor (the "faster" sibling) and 6 GB RAM here. Restored to it's factory default settings, it was painfully slow, took about 5 minutes to boot up and multitasking wasn't much of an option.
