Hi lads and ladies. I own a 06 octavia and very happy with it. 116km on the clock and no problems so far. I see the new octavia is out some time this year, any info on it? I.e spec/price etc. As I'm looking to upgrade.

    March.
Never looked at a new car before. So I'm just wondering when it will be available to test drive? In march or earlier?

In showrooms March 19th, spec looks a little sparse, even the options list isn't hectic. On a side note, Skoda are/were offering 0% finance but they seem to have pushed ALL their prices up by a couple of grand to cover it.

    Base spec is very...base.
    01/10/2012: Skoda Octavia Active 1.2TSI 105hp = €17,995
    New Octavia Active 1.2TSI 105hp = €19,995

Couldn't find any added equipment in the new Active as compared to the previous model, and the VRT rate has only increased by 1%(from 16% for the old model, to 17% for the new).

The 1.6 diesel has increased by €1,500 and the 2.0 diesel by over €2,000.

I noticed Skoda have increased their entire range by a couple of grand. Ridiculous. Talk about killing the goose!

Skoda have got it wrong badly on the Octavia. Its a shame because its a brilliant car in many ways but not at that price
