is there a part of an elbow/arm you should use in self defense

Is forearm /or middle arm /elbow point?

'Im guessing forearm is better because it is quicker and closer and won't break

You want to specifically elbow someone in the face in self defense? Hmm...

    Well...

Short answer is the tip of the elbow. Its fairly difficult to explain in text. Best elbow techniques (standing up at any rate) come from Muay Thai, chances are that you would have to be training a good while before you start learning elbows as beginners aren't allowed to throw elbows and so there isn't a big focus on them in beginner classes. I'd suggest getting a private lesson and asking to work on elbows for the hour if you're really interested in learning how to elbow.
