Anyone have any experience with these ? (We're looking for a honeymoon destination)

We are looking to travel in late August start of September - hoping for approx 3 weeks, we're heard Bora Bora is fantastic ...but incredibly snobby and expensive, Moorea is a cheaper and similar Island.... tahiti is overpriced (apparently).

We've done Hawaii, Maui, other parts of USA and places like Thailand... we dont want to goto Europe, She has been to Oz ...I haven't.

A travel agent recommended a few islands like Akitaki, Rarotonga and Moorea ....so anyone have any experience with this part of the world and can anyone recommend them or any other places in the world which you would recommend ?

I got married there in Rarotonga back in 2008. We loved it. The people are soooooo nice and chilled. The island is very chilled out so if you are looking for late mad nights....don't go. In fact it took us ages to get over the jetlag. We could not stay up past 9 for the first few nights and then awake at 4 in the morning. So maybe if you can stay somewhere half way to get used to it. We stayed in the crown beach and got married there as well. Can't fault them at all. A lot of the beaches on rarotonga are coral though so watch out for the feet. very easy to get around the island. 2 bus routes - clockwise and anti clockwise so no chance of getting lost :) but you can hire motorbikes etc.
If you do decide to go probably cheaper to get round the world tickets. That's what we got and spent a few nights in a few cities as it is a very long way to go. We flew with air new Zealand via LA and then back via Sydney and Bangkok. We always said we would love to go back there sometime siiiiiigggghhhhhhhhh
