Hi my car is a uk import .It was registered in Ireland in 2008 . I have all the history from then till now . I decided to do a check on my wheels.ie to check the mileage . The report has no odometer reading on Irish reg ? I found the uk reg but it gives me no historty from when the car was in the uk , just the make and model and uk reg . No odometer readings either . Is this normal . Also does anyone know of a site where I can put in uk reg and get the full english history please . thanks for any questions answered.

Without being smart, you may not want to know.

If you find something out, you are going to be legally obliged to disclose when you trade or sell.

You own the car now so maybe you'll get information you dont need to know.

Thanks for your reply wicklowandy . I just wondered was there a reason for the report not showing the mileage , thought maybe an Irish site doesn't have the relevant history of uk cars ? not sure .

Irish site would have no access, and car may have been imported while still too fresh for mot (and mileage verification)?

exactly what I thought just wasn't sure thanks . But surely my wheels.ie report should have the mileage on record on the Irish reg by now no ?

Maybe it's stupid question, but where from all those online services take those mileage for all cars?

From where? Surely nct sharing of that info would have data protection implications?

Car check websites, while useful for finance checks should be taken with a pinch of salt. There only as good as the person collating and inputting the data.

well the report was able to bring up when my car was due for next nct and tax , I just presumed it would bring up mileage aswell . I found it odd there was no mileage on it but maybe that's because it's a uk import ?

NCT and TAX due dates is data that surely must be in databases.

    Mileage - well.
I have a car for 5 years now, and except from NCT centre no one ever really had a chance to look at it's mileage, so only person who knows the mileage is me and NCT centre. If they don't share this data, then no on-line service has any physical possibility to know my mileage.

The mileage from the Irish history of the car matches up alright . I just wanted to check the uk history to be sure . I'm sure I've seen posts on here of people advising other people to do a history check to find to see if the mileage matches up ?

So is this the same for everyone ? you don't get your mileage on a report ?

Hi op hpicheck.co.uk is a good site to use to check uk reg vehicles it will give you everything about your car just wondering why your checking now after buying so long ago.
    Did you find something suspicious?
Used hpicheck a good few times and really helped me and customer service very good.

hi miller . no nothing suspicious . I found a different uk reg in my history folder with different mileage . so I'm just trying to find out anything I can from this reg that's all . turns out the uk reg in folder was not of my car .

The NCT does NOT share mileage information with any of these vehicle history check companies.

Unlike the situation in the UK, where mileage information is shared by the MoT with the likes of HPI.

The NMR (National Mileage Register) is owned by Cartell.ie, and relies on dealers, owners, etc., voluntarily supplying odometer information to them.

Therefore, in Ireland right now, there is NO official public mileage register.

And many owners and dealers hardly have an incentive to be honest. By supplying false info, they would be legitimising any mileage discrepency:)
