the advance pitstop deal seemed to be a better deal if it wasnt for the fact that they are awful to deal with

What kind of oil are you putting in you engine? Any decent oil cost a good bit more than 12-14 euro.

There are different grade oils with different specs for each make and model. Some cars cost more than others to service because of this. Most modern cars take fully synthetic high spec oil which is a lot more expensive than 12-14euro.

A barrel of high grade/high spec oil will cost considerably more than 250 euro, even a barrel of 10w40 semi syntethic oil would cost more than 250.

What grade/spec oil did you get for 12.50?

Very few garages carry all oils as it would be a expensive lot of stock.most will just have 2-3 types..

They won't be using castrol or anything of that level for 55e service(or are they taking a loss...?
I used to buy it by the barrel for the boats part synt was about 250e fully synth was about 270

It was halfords own oil for modern fords 5w 30 I think

Its says oil up to 4 litres. Straight away thats and extra €15 to €20 on top if your car takes more than 4L as they will charge the main dealer per litre price for any additional.
