There seems to be a number of debates that just repeat themselves over and over on this website and others like it.

Two weeks ago there was a thread about children in restaurants that hit 300 or so posts.

I've seen that same debate take place at least five or six times on forum sites in the past few years. I guess its different people having the debate, but its always always the same points being made.

A few days back some motorist started off a thread complaining about cyclists that sparked a debate thats currently at 451 posts. Exactly the same as threads that took place last year, the year before, the year before that........ Cyclists versus motorists versus cyclists versus motorists.......a cycle that never ends.

In a next week or so, we can probably expect at least one of:
    - Fee paying schools should/ shouldnt be allowed
    - Racist taxi drivers/ No the from wherevers are taking their work....
    - Door to door salespeople/ Chuggers are too aggressive....... No they arent they have to make a living....
    - Dog owners versus dog **** haters.....

This seems like an awful lot of wasted energy, people could just look back at the history of boards and instead of starting a new argument, just one from 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012.......and just copy and paste the last one instead of going through the whole process again.

Nature of the internet and forums in general, same topics come round again and again cos the same things annoy people again and again.

There will be another thread like this one again too in the near future.

Its good to get updated points of view though as people and their opinions are always changing.

Also I have deja vu with this thread :P

It would be good, that when you hit the button for posting new thread, the site automatically searched for topics similar to the new thread being posted and then asked the user if they wished to post in an existing thread.

Very interesting article about Groundhog Day (released 20 years ago this year you know) in the Guardian this week.

One of which was how the name went into the language over the years.

Didi you know also that the Washington Post critic said (the film on release got mixed reviews) that whereas it was a perfectly ok film it would never be regarded as a national treasure. It was in fact noted as such by the US library of Congress in 2006.

It's considered bad form to resurrect zombie threads, they tend to get locked quite quickly as occasionally old wounds can be reopened as a poster might attack a three year old post.

The last original point made in AH was in 2005. It was to do with the correct method of dosing lambs in a mountain pasturage.

    Since then, well...

I' m with op here..from now on op's who get annoyed with same old stuff should be bombarded with replies of...

    1. "blastings of piss"
    2. Yor ma
    3. First world problems
    4. Noticed a decline in swans etc...

I really love it though when people with genuine grievances stumble accidentally into AH..
