    Hi All,

    unusual question and this may not be the right place to ask - so apologies to all if it is!!

    Just wondering what is situation with tax free shopping in north america (Canada/USA)? I'm heading over next week and would like to get a few things - electronics and jewellery mainly and want to know what i'm entitled to before i go over and more importantly how i can claim back the tax on anything that i buy...

    You can not claim back sales tax in the US for things that you buy over there. The US does not offer the same VAT/sales tax policies to foreign visitors that the EU does. If you buy something, you pay the sales tax, that is it. Don't know about Canada.

    That's a pity, do you know if its the same in Canada by any chance I'm heading there too...
