As you may know, Each Region has a ubuntu loco team (list here).
The loco teams discuss ubuntu on a local level and also meet up every few months in person. One such examples is for ubuntu hours. it is designed to "tying to promote Ubuntu to the general public and getting them wondering what else is out there."

I am posting on the behalf of the Irish loco team. Ive sent up this thread to try and promote ubuntu in Ireland. If you are interested in joining the team anybody can , just sign up here here. and/or the mailing list where you just get an email ( sign up here for that)
I will also be posting outings when the team decide on them.( This is usually done on irc chats that we try and have once a month.)

If you happen to hear of a speech by somebody that might be of interest , feel free to post here and or the mailing list.

I you have no idea about ubuntu and just want to find out more, your still more than welcome.
There is also a facebook page if you just want to like it and you hear of events there as well.

One event is a meet up in limerick , but no date on that. If you just want to get to know about ubuntu come along and ask. Ill post it when i get word.

Really Relishing the Reality of Raring Ringtailed Racoon Release Revelries!

Details of the Dublin Raring Ringtail (Ubuntu 13.04) Release Party have been announced!

Full details for this event can be found on the LTP Listing at:

    http://loco.ubuntu.com/events/ubuntu-ie/2327-raring-ringtail-release-revelries-dublin/

It has been a long time since Ubuntu Ireland has hosted a social event in Dublin and this time we return to The Porterhouse Temple Bar which was the location of the very successful Ubuntu 11.10 Release Party.

It would be great if people in the Dublin region could attend this event and, in the run up to it, spread news of the revelries. Could folks please bring news of this party to whatever Computer Societies or geeky groups they may be involved with? It would be great to have a vibrant turnout and celebration again.

Ubuntu Linux Ireland is holding it's hopefully monthly irc meating tonight at 8.30.

Everybody young or old . Rich or poor. Noob or experienced is more than welcome to join.

The team was recently reapproved last month after the team manage to survive a noticable drop in activity that was picked up and sorted early this year.
I realy should have posted that here to get people to come to the meating. (We all make mistakes )

You can connect to the meating here and also add an topic to be discussed .
