    hi im thinking about getting a 2007 ford focus lx it has 64000 miles on it , im just wondering if this car has a timing belt or timing chain , anyone know ?

    Petrol or diesel? The petrols have a timing belt. It should be changed at 100k miles or 8 years, which ever comes first. The diesels versions also have a timing belt. For the 1.8tdci version it's the same interval as the petrol versions. For the 1.6tdci it's 125k miles or 10years which ever comes first.

    Could I just ask if it is keyless ignition? Friend had one it gave awful trouble think due to warning lights on dash and locking and unlocking the car when it shouldn't have been

    call the ford garage re timing belt, ive 120K KM's on mine,garage insisting on 160,000KM to change.06 petrol focus 1.4

    Thanks for the replys , yeah it's keyless ignition , I didn't know there was any issues with this , I must check this out , it's petrol , I thought that 60k miles was standard

    Id be avoiding the keyless ignition models if i were you as this feature is well known to give problems. No Fords usually have higher intervals than 60k. Many japanese cars however such as Toyota and Honda have 60k mile intervals.
