You guys might remember the thread form 2011 about Rowan Atkinson crashing his McLaren F1

It took McLaren four weeks assess the damage and to estimate the repair cost. They deemed repairable and the insurance company paid out £910,000. A mere bargain when you consider that they are selling for around £3m these days. Link

Glad to see that the F1 was repairable. Going by the pictures at the time it looked like a write off.

£910k is not the UK's largest payout, personal injury claims can be a lot higher.

I wonder will the Insurance company seek an alternative quote from the local mechanic? :D

'Nothin a bit of polish won't fix..!' and a few parts from an ol Opel Ascona.

Most of the articles Ive seen on this today make the point that its the most expensive single car repair payout. Medical costs not a factor here but yes, no doubt many many other accident claims exceed this figure when numerous damaged cars and injuries are included.

Single car payouts rarely involve TP's, so it would have to be amongst the highest. Passengers in a single car incident can claim for injuries though
