Hi folks, Looking for some insight, point in the right direction even

Have a Nissan almera Year 2000 newer Model, Saloon and the boot is socking wet internal,, Looks like the seals are gone around the boot,

Any idea where I can even begin to go to get them replaced, and cost etc?

Nissan Garage say 89Euro just to Even look at the car,, but when I asked how Much on the seals, the didnt answer

The boot is starting to get moldy and there is a permenant 4 inch deep puddle in the Spare Wheel well that I need to Empty on a regular basis
    Cheers

very common problem on this model, i worked in a Nissan main dealer for over 10 years, it was always a few different things tho witch was the weird part, the top rubber like you said was one, also the rear panel the seam sealer can crack over time and let water in and also the rear lights they use a putty like sealer and it can perish as well

Aw right,, Was assuming it was just the Seals,, the lights might explain the reason why when you lift the boot the water Also now comes from inside the physical boot also where the lights are,,, thanks for that,,

Any idea on cost or what I should do?

I had the saloon model of this car & had the same problem.
My seals petrified cracked & just came loose over time.
It was on it's last legs so I drilled 2 holes in the base of the wheel well.
Probably not the fix you're after.

Right so,, starting to get a sinking feeling here,, thanks folks

Drilling ,, nah, am currenlty trying to dry out the over lays from the boot, as the boot covers were all moldy and warped,,

There are rubber seals in the bottom of the spare wheel well, that I have Removed for now, so water is getting out now at least,, but want to Seal
the boat as its basically useless,

Go shopping, but groceries in the boot,, its rains,, open Boot when you get home,, Groceries are Swimming,, :(

Get into the boot with a torch, close it and get your missus to point a hose at the lights and shut lines. Identify where the water comes in and fix that.

    Simples.

There should be a black cap where the spare wheel is to drain out the water just open it and that should get rid of the water

was just going to say that, but it might be hid under the sound deadening pad

if it is the lights this is the stuff you need

Often saw this on Almera saloons.

There is a seam / join in the bodypanels alongside the tail-lamps, between the lamp and the boot seal (a short horizontal seam). The top metal sheet lies inside the bottom one instead of the other way around. The joint opens easily, eg if the car got any slight knock when parking etc. Because of the way the panels are overlapped, the water then flows into the boot instead of being kept out. Worth checking, and if that's your problem, 30 seconds with any sealer will sort you out.

BTW, above is for the 2000-2007 model, not the 1996-2000 model.

That is no use as it will bind the light in and you will never get it out

the stuff thats in there currently is pretty tough aswell, almost impossible to get the light out without breaking it.

heat gun is the way to do it, i know what you mean almost impossible as i have just about lost a few finger nails doing it :o but with a bit of heat its no bother at all
