Connecting App to Sky Box on Zyxell Wifi Network

Hi,

I have eircom broadband so I have the zyxel router that they use.

I'm trying to connect the sky+ app on my phone to the box.
I'm wondering if there is some specific setting that I need on the router.

I've tried using the android app and the app on the ipad.

Does anybody else have the zyxel router and is able to connect to their sky box with the App?

I have a new sky hd box and I have updated the firmware on it.

I'm having the same problems, tried every instruction from sky, updated sky+ box, reckon it has to do with a setting on my router but don't know what

Is your sky box connected to the zyxel router with an ethernet cable?

When I use the wired connection it works perfectly, when I moved box to another room in house and had to use WIFI it will no longer work.

not sure if this has anything to do with this but about two years ago i bought a smart tv and i couldnt get it conected to all share on wi fi , got a samgsung rep out and he sorted it with a new router seeminly the eircom one wont work needed a belkin n type hope this helps.

It seems to be a fairly wide spread issue, lots of people had, and still have, the problem when the iOS version came out, and lots are having the same problem with the android version. There's no concrete solution from sky other than just random stuff like planner rebuilds, forced software updated, uninstall and reinstall the app and rebooting the router.

I had exactly the same issue but after I switched to sky for the phone and broadband I was able to connect everything up 1st time no problems. On another note, I had constant issues using my wireless printer with that eircom router but that's sorted now too.

Right, problem solved.

My router was the Zyxel that eircom gave me when I first joined.

Problem: Eircom router

Solution: Dump it and get another one

Result: Worked straight away!

i moved to Sky from vodafone, and was wondering if i could set up the old VF router to pick up wireless from the sky router to the sky+ box ? tv not near a phone point

Hi Scuby, you should be able to, you need to go into setting on your sky box and look for network, I think its the red button you will need to press to search for your modem, input your security key and away you go. I presume you have a wireless connector plugged into you sky box?
