    hello boardsies,

not sure where to post this so please redirect me if you know whee this should go.

I bought an old pine peasant table which isn't in bad shape but does need restoring.

I really don't want to ruin it but I do want to take the project on myself. you can really see the grain and feel it on the top, I need to remove the very light varnish but sanding it will take away the years of marks and destroy the indented grain.

how can I remove the finish and accentuate the grain without brutalizing the old table?

    any suggestions really appreciated!

    Tomas
