without seeing them & at the risk of being ridiculed:o, assuming they're in good shape without being overly fit, i.e. you'll get a good thrive off them when they hit fresh grass:
    black whitehead 300kg 2011 heifer- €600
    300kg 2011 angus bullock- €550
    300kg 2011 Fr bullock- €450

That's great weight gain for bucket fed calves. There are a lot of guys with sucklers not able to achieve that!! You're obviously looking after them very well - keeping grass in front of them, meal, quality silage etc!

bulls on a kilo of meal and on fresh grass, outwintered with no silage but good grass. heifers on average silage and 1/2 kilo per day. Taking the heifers off meal in the next few days. will be going to grass in a few weeks.
I suppose they ate 250 kg average of meal each and they were on good grass. there are some of the suckled calves that are about the same weight and age but they got dam all meal.
