Resetting Service interval display

    Hi guys,

    hopin somebody can help me. got my dad to service my 09 petrol skoda roomster at the wkend but i'm havin difficulty resettin the service interval display on the dash. followed the manuals instructions about pushin in the trip switch, turning engine on, then release and turn to the right, but all tis has done so far is remove the service now message which had been flashing up on the dash, but im still left with the service symbol, a spanner, on the display, not to mention that any time i touched that trip switch it also adjusted my clocks time!!!
    Please can somebody help, im sure its suposed to be easy and im doin something silly wrong!!

    The service light is there for a reason. It's to tell you it has to be serviced. Does the skoda have a screen for the radio like the Audi if it does you need vas pc or vag com to reset it if it doesn't have that then your defo doing something wrong with the knobs. You don't start the car when resetting it. U hold the botton before you turn on the ignition then switch it to position 2 while holding the button

    Depending on what service schedules your car is set for you may need a diagnostic computer to reset the service notice.
