Unlocked Samsung Galaxy S2

I have just had my Galaxy S2 unlocked and changed my SIM from O2 to Tesco. It does make calls and send texts but I have 2 problems.

    1. The little 'R' shows up so the phone thinks it's roaming.

    2. It will not connect to the internet via the mobile provider telling me there is no network though as I said this is not an issue for calls or texts.

It does still connect through wifi!

    Anyone else had this problem?

Have you changed your APN settings to match Tesco's? Or is it the same as o2's?

Hi. Thanks for the reply? What are APN settings, where do I get them and how do I put them in? I'm not the best will mobile phones. :o

    Navigate to http://www.tescomobile.ie/helpandsupport/phone-settings.aspx.

Expand Android Settings on that page and follow instructions therein..

Thanks. I stumbled across it by accident and the phone is working fine now....except it thinks it's roaming. I'm told it's because Tesco uses the O2 network. It's odd as it was originally an O2 phone but it was next to useless in my own home. Yet, as a Tesco phone, it's working great.

    Thanks again. :)

It's because Tesco is piggy back on the o2 network so it technically is roaming all the time.
