OK so last Sunday night I had the misfortune to reverse out of my drive and into the side of a Mk4 GTI. I left a note on it and what have you, the owner contacted me to tell me that he got a quote for the repair of €475. He was good enough to tell me that I could shop around for a better price if I wanted to.

The panel that is damaged is the front drivers side wing and my question is the wing off a normal golf is the same as the GTI?

That's super news George just what I wanted to hear :D.

Now I just have to see if he will be happy with getting a wing from a Golf being broken

One more question. Were both 'satin silver' paint code LB7Z and 'silver arrow' paint code LG9R available in Ireland?
Is the paint code printed on the car anywhere or will I have to call the dealer?

Paint code should be in the service book and on the sticker under the Mat in the boot.

even if you manage to pick up a 2nd hand panel the same colour chances are it will be a different shade to the car ;)
