I am selling a YLOD ps3 as the behemoth is taking up space.
My question is, if repaired, can someone gain access to my details, as in psn?
I have an offer on the old 60gb console but I am wary now for the outlined reasons.
    Any advice there?

1st off I'd say to change your PSN password on the site below:

    https://store.playstation.com/external/index.vm?returnURL=https://secure.eu.playstation.com/psnauth/PSNResponse/forums/

Now I haven't tried this myself but I read a temp fix for YLOD by blasting a hairdryer through the back vents for 10 minutes. Then leave it cool for an hour. Plug everything back in and boot it up. It might power on then so use the Format Utility straight away before it dies again

Also, you could just take out the HDD if you wanted to be absolute certain, maybe who ever buys a YLOD PS3 is only looking for specific parts and hopefully not a HDD.
