The flash on my Nikon slr has stopped working - any suggestions or remedies would be great.

How about a factory reset of your camera (you will lose all previously configured settings as part of this).

If this doesn't work then you are talking repair.

Alternatively, forget about your on camera flash and get yourself a speedlight (the approach I would use!)

    Does the flash pop up?

What model Nikon have you got?

There is a somewhat common fault with some of the D#0 series where the small switch that tells the body that the flash is in the upright position slips out of place and as a result the body thinks the flash is still down and will not flash.
For that fault it is a relatively simple fix requiring no parts so depending on the model this may be the fault and I could sort it out for you if you would like?
